For those that are unaware.... I am employed. Yes. It's true. You're darling friend Deirdre has gone out and gotten herself a job.
As of Monday I will be the Assistant Campus Minister and teacher of drama class at my high school. Its a really, long, insane story as to how I arrived at this point in my life. And I'm not really thrilled as to why the position I will take was open in the first place. If you'd like to know the whole story drop me an email and I'll tell ya.
I'm excited/nervous/antsy/scared/happy/sad/nostalgic for this new phase of my life to begin. I went in for an interview on Wednesday and by lunchtime I was hired for the rest of the year. Thursday morning I went in to fill out some paperwork, shocked to see so many people functioning at 8:30 in the morning. I was walking the hallway when I ran into the Latin teacher whom I loved in high school. He told me "As of Monday, you will call me Walter." I told him that would be extremely hard, but I'd attempt it. A few staff members at the school said, "Hey! You're Eileen's daughter!" (My mother is the Business Manager at school) To which I told my mother, "You know I was here first and I still came in second to you." To which she smiled and laughed.
So I will no longer be on Instant Messenger for days at a time. Its a small trade for getting health benefits. But don't you worry princess, my new years resolution is to update this little thang more often. I really have no idea what my new schedule will be like other than arriving at 7:45AM M-F until June.
On a sad note, today was my last day of driving Miss Daisy. Since this job opportunity just fell into my lap and snowballed into what it is, I will be unable to take her to get her hair done and do her grocery shopping. The good news is that Allison, my sister, will be taking the reigns and will personally hear the same story 7 times. In all honesty, Helen is a cuttie-patootie and I will miss her.
I'm off to bed in attempts to make Monday an easier wake-up. I have to look cute that day, I'm sure Mom will take pictures as we car-pool to work.
Peace...
