Countdown to the Boss: 13 Days
All this talk about finding songs for the One Louder List has inspired me to once again attempt to make a soundtrack to my life. I've tried before, but have not been happy with the final product. The rule is it must be fit on one 80 minute disc. The hardest part is narrowing down the list. I put all 2,373 mp3's I have in one Winamp list and after one run through whittled it down to 369. Yeah I have a waaaaays to go. This is just the mp3's. I havent even looked at the cd's yet.
So if my life was a mooooovie, the most interesting part would have to be my college years. The day I moved in freshman year my Grandpa died. How's that for an opener? It's not all tears though. There is the occasional Baby (3). Celebrity sightings: Hot Gay Danny (Real World New Orleans) and Stephen Lynch for example. Amazing friendships. A love interest or two. All this would add up to a movie that wouldn't suck entirely. The right actors, and just maybe it'd make a buck. That's a whole nother post as to what actors to cast. I could do as Ryan did and wrote a movie based as he puts, "VERY loosley" on his life.
The soundtrack can't represent the latest top 40 hits. That's what "Now That's Music, Volume 456" is for.
Granted there are songs that remind me of particular people.
Alison Kraus singing, "You Say It Best (When You Say Nothing At All)" reminds me of the drive back to school with Amber after an awesome weekend in New Jersey.
Jude - "I Do" is one of the greatest love songs of all time and it reminds me of a friend that got married.
I think I have a song that reminds me of everyone I know.
That sounds crazy, but true. Don't believe me? Ask me and I'll tell you what your song is.
Tomorrow I have the dentist. WOO HOO! Before that I will make a pit-stop in Whitehouse Station to wish my best friend, Katie (aka Dawg), Bon Voyage as she departs for Ireland. Lucky bitch. (Crash - Dave Matthews is dawg's song.)
Peace...
Current Music: One of the 369 finalists. Sheesh.
