I'm way overdue to recount the events of Saturday.... So here's how it all went down.....

After a small bout of depression from my inability to have shirt made for the show saying "Another Day Wasted" on the front and 'The bassist is easy" on the back, I took a train to Hoboken...

I met Michele in Hoboken around 7:30. We took the path to 9th street and walked about 10 feet realized how cold and windy it really was, then hailed a cab. We got out across the street from CBGB's to see the guys outside taking pictures. They looked like rockstars. Not they aren't already. After Ant ran inside yelling, "I'll hug you inside where it's warm!" Michele I decided to find some dinner. As we were walking to find something that we could eat Michele found a restaurant that was featured on The Food Network. I don't remember the name, but they were featured for their fried Mars bar. Since the menu mainly consisted of fried fish, I opted to go next door to the pizza joint. This is the part where the insanity of this night begins.

We order our calzone and sit patiently watching Rudolph on the TV. A man in his late 60's/early 70's with an Italian (I think) accent asks us if we want a singing lesson. Never one to pass up a good opportunity when I see one, I said sure. Michele was wishing I had said no thanks. Opera Man, as I lovingly call him, told us that all these pop singers today will loose their voice by the age of 40. They didn't prepare well. They can practice all the scales they like, but if they aren't doing it right, from their gut, then it won't last. He sang a few bars for us, then faded into the night like all crazy folk.

After a delicious Calzone, Michele and I headed back to CBGB's, avoiding a fight that was about to take place on the street. It was in 2 languages so you knew it was going to be a good one.

Well they rocked it. It was honestly the best I have ever heard them. The acoustics are way better than any other place I've heard them at, besides through my stereo. The whole time I kept wondering about what unbelievable musicians had crossed the stage and that ADW is now a part of that history. That is the coolest thing in the world.

Not only was it a good show, but the people there rocked the house too. Haley and Tom were there, I haven't seen either one since graduation. Theresa was there with her sexy ass, Jess my fellow nine days fan, and Joe, brother of Ant. Not to mention a vast assortment of other QU'ers. A lot of the regular ADW fans were there. Good times. Until.....

I decided that the 11:05 train back to my house was way too early. So I opted for the 12:37 out of Hoboken. A little before 12 Michele and I begin to say our goodbyes and make our way to the door. Hail a cab once again, back to the path station. Michele and I held each other for dear life as our cabbie was scary. He asked us if we were from Jersey and where did we live, when "North" wasn't a good enough answer we said "outside of Hoboken". As we were stopped at a light a cab pulled up to the right of us. Normal right? Wrong. In the back of this cab were two people having sex. Or at least very good at simulating it. Michele rolled down the window and told them to, "GET A ROOM!" They heard and eventually stopped. The next block was the 9th street path, so we got out, sprinted down what could be the longest walkway, to the turnstiles. Michele then pointed out that the TV's that show advertisements showed that the next Path train to Hoboken would arrive at 12:31. For those doing the math, that would allow me roughly 6 minutes to travel from New York City to Hoboken then run to my train on the other end of the station. Long story short I missed the last train back. Thank the Lord Michele was with me. I ended up taking the train back to her house in Upper Saddle River. We got in at 2AM. She drove me back to my house around 1pm.

All in all, it was a crazy night with hella expensive drinks. "Cheapest beer is PBR" was an actual sign above the bar. Along with 'CPR kit located behind bar", singing lessons, a fight, missed trains and a whole lotta laughs. It took me 19 hours to get home from when I left, but it was all worth it. And I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Peace...
