Holy cow. I can't believe I survived Hurricane Isabel. The Crystal Ball that Shad checked in Maine said I wouldn't. It was touch and go for a bit.

So I spent the night at Amy's. So far so good. We got Wendy's for dinner then passed out on the couch by 11:30. Went up to bed around 1AM. It took the both of us roughly an hour to go to sleep once upstairs due to the loud wind and creaking house.

2:55AM WHOO WHOO WHOO WHOO WHOO WHOO WHOO WHOO (sound of a house alarm going off)
"GET UP THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE!!" Amy yells at me because this alarm is going off. Still in a daze I respond, "What?" She then scurries down the hall flicking light switches to see what's going on, only to find that the power is now out. Neither of us have any idea when the power went out, but we have both appropriately pooped our pants in fear. Amy grabs a flashlight from her bathroom then puts in the code on the alarm in her parents room. Her parents, by the way, were in Atlantic City and Robert is at school, hence me coming over to keep her company. We chatted as what the hell just happened for awhile then after being freaked out like two school girls seeing a monster in the closet, it took us at lest another hour and a half to go back to sleep. So if you're playing at home, the current time would be roughly: 4:45AM Amy has to get up at 6 for work. She "naps" til 6, then goes to take a shower, but power is still out, so no water. I wake up just before she about to leave for work to say adios. It's now 7:45. I sleep til 8 when Amy calls to tell me how to get my car out of her garage. It was in there so as not to be crushed by one of the many trees that surrounds her house. She says, Stay as long as you want. Rather than freak myself out anymore in a house that isn't mine where there is no power, I get up. Get the car out of the garage drive the half hour back to Gillette. Once home I learn that they too have lost their power, but it has returned. AMEN!! And my sister has a delayed opening. Good for her. The little turd needs some sleep.

After all of that I was sure I'd fall asleep, but I didn't. I got a chance to check out Ellen's new show. I give it an Eh. It needs time to work out the kinks, but I see something that can last. I made it the whole day, on little sleep and I didn't even nap. And now Dad turned on the A/C. Today rules!

Peace...
