Last night was crazy!!!! I wasnt sure how it was going to work because I really should have stayed home to study for my Ab-Psych test today, but when you're twin brother's band is playing. You go to see them. No question.
Here's the characters in this story:
Amber: My best friend and partner in crime
Michele: An RA on my staff and all around smart ass.
Ben: He's Ben. 'nuff said.
Anthony: My evil twin and bassist in the most rockin' band EVER!
Others: A parking dude, Rusted Root (the band), Keith and Todd (Bouncers), and really friggin weird lead singer from Defcon 5.
Scene: Hartford. Little Italy (Well that's what the sign said, but I beg to differ) The Webster Theatre.....
After learning on 91 that Amber has never heard the song, "ignition- the remix" by R. Kelly we get to the place where Anthony's band is playing. Ant was going on at 10. He called at 8:00, he was nervous. He's so cute. We pull up to the parking lot, but it was full. The parking dude told us, and I quote, "Go around the block, go past the Interception make a right at the probation office and park somewhere around there." After Amber almost peed herself from the previous statement, we do as the parking dude said and parked on the street with the probation office. We walked the block back to The Webster and got on-line (not in line, for all you Massholes) gave the ticket and our ID to Keith the bouncer. We go inside. I kept thinking, "Hey, I saw Our Lady Peace here. That's pretty cool that Ant is playing on the same stage." We saw on the marquee that Rusted Root is playing that night as well. Keith lets us in, we get our beer and continue inside only to be hit in the face with a gigantic cloud of smoke. We walk over to the other side of the venue. I thought John (guitarist of Another Day Wasted, read: Ant's band) looked a whole lot like the lead singer of Rusted Root. Turns out it was Rusted Root. We got in the concert for free. Cool.
So we make out of the Rusted Root show. Most people would have stayed, but we went to see Ant play. We make it to The Webster Underground, that's where we were supposed to be in the first place. Keith told us to see Todd. We saw Todd, he laughed and all was right with the world. ADW rocked the house. They played 4 new ones and my fav oldie. After them a band called Defcon 5 went on. They got hammered while Ant played, so I figured this would be good. They screamed a lot. And said things like, "You know you want to fuck us!!" I can actually say that, No. We did not want to "fuck" him. I was standing at the Bar talking to Amber when the lead singer came up behind me and held the mic to my mouth as if I was going to sing. He smelt HORRIBLE. Brother had B.O. like no other. Listen buddy just because the entire audience was leaving after ADW, doesn't mean you're a bad band. Well actually it does. What douche.
Amber, Michele, Ben and myself head back to Hamden. Acrop was payed a visit to. I had pancakes. Im sorry Amy I know that's a you and me thing, but I needed pancakes. They sucked if that makes you feel better. There was a lot of kissing going on. There were a lot of laughs. And we hung out with a Rockstar. Cool.
Peace...
