“…Look at the stars, see how they shine for you…”
Sunday night at the beach house was awesome. The day was a waste as it drizzled; so no ocean. By that night Dad got down with The Boy and Kristen. Around midnight I ventured towards my bed as the night before, I never made it there. I met Chris on my balcony and he says, “Hey. Look out there,” as he pointed towards the sky. I gazed up and my breath was taken away as I looked at the most amazing sky that I have ever seen in my 21 years of existence. (Dawg, don’t get me wrong, that night at your house was unbelievable, but this was the same thing and completely different all at once.) Maybe it had something to do with the smell and sound of the ocean and the lack of light pollution, the whole ordeal brought a tear to my eye. At this point Chris went to bed. I don’t know why I began to cry. Maybe it was because it was so beautiful. Or because I wish someone was there with me. I was all alone much like the first 21 years of my life. I don’t know why I do that. I set myself up so that I don’t get hurt. I don’t know why I do that. Maybe because it’s easier. Maybe it’s my maternal instinct. I just want to take care of people. Anytime a friend parted ways from their significant other; I get the call. And most days I don’t mind it.

Wow that’s a tangent if I’ve ever seen one.

Now I pack up from the beach and head with Dad to go kayaking. That should be a story 

Peace…

I’m back after winning a rousing game of Skip-bo. I kicked ass. My 9-year-old cousin Allison and I beat her mom and Aunt Barbara. It’s a rough life I lead.

Well Dad and I went kayaking. We had our nature lesson for the year. We went all around the bay on a tour. It was cool until we docked on a sand bar and the guy made us get out to watch a BUTT-LOAD of horseshoe crabs do it. Woo hoo. I stepped on the tail of a horseshoe crab once. Man that sucked. Its like a giant splinter in the bottom of your foot. Breathtaking actually. We had a good time. I didn’t fall out, I didn’t get too wet and I didn’t have to do my arm workout today. After 5 miles we got back to where we parked and cruised on home.

After a nice shower I head over to Barbara and Kevin’s for dinner. I’m greeted at the door with a Malibu bay breeze. Ahhh how nice it is to be 21. We play a rousing game of Skip-bo. And here I am.

The end.

Peace…
